The Japanese car maker, Nissan is one of the most prominent brands which is well known for its high performance and cool featured cars. The company possesses excellency in manufacturing all type of car models which includes sports coupes, sedans, car vans, SUVs and trucks.

In 1933, Nissan started its functioning as the Jidosha Seico Co., Ltd. In the very next year, the company merged with another Japanese firm, which jointly created a new company Nissan Motor Company, Ltd. It initially launched its cars under the supervision of Datsun brand. The first model of this auto-manufacturer was introduced in 1934.After the World War I Nissan expanded its branches across the globe in joint venture with Austin Motor Co. based in United Kingdom. In 1958, Nissan landed on the shores of United Stated by introducing the most sensational Datsun 1000 which was based on the same platform of Nissan.

During 1960s Nissan collaborated with an Asian car maker, Prince Motor Company in order to manufacture premium cars. The company continued its awesome contribution overseas with its Datsum Fairlady, Datsun 510, the 511 series etc. By 1970s Nissan became one of the largest exporters of automobiles as it sold more than 10 million vehicles.

Nissan got separated from Datsun brand and started selling cars across the globe under its own name. During 1980s Nissan launched Nismo which got critics appreciation as it was installed with high performance engine. In the same decade Nissan inaugurated its manufacturing facility in Tennessee, U.S.

With the beginning of '90s Nissan's sales mounted up due to its excellent marketing strategies and new introductions like Nissan Quest, Nissan Villager, Freestar and Monterey. In 1998, Nissan announced to sell off its headquarters. Things became critical for Nissan, but in 1999, Nissan and Renault signed a global partnership agreement to boost their dropped down performance and share expertise with each other.

New millennium brought back the glory for Nissan. The company brought revised models of Sentra and Altima which received a warm response. In addition, it also introduced NissanTitan and Nissan Armada which added to success stories for the auto-major. At present, Nissan is counted as one of the best car manufacturers globally for its long line up of products available. In India too Nissan has done extremely well with its four models; 370Z, Teana, X-trail and the most appealing hatchback, Nissan Micra.
