During the pre World War era many of the Buggati cars became the first choice of the sports cars fanatics. Cars like Type 35 sports racetrack cars, Type 41 and many other models of Type 57 coupes got an awesome response in the sports cars arena.
Like many other leading auto-majors, Buggati too had adverse effects,as this leading auto-major failed miserably with the revolt of World War II. This sports car maker was on the verge of financial crisis and ultimately, Bugatti Automobiles introduced its last car in the 50s decade. The son of Mr. Buggati passed away while testing a Buggati racing car which was the major setback for the company. Buggati Automobiles was more caved in when, Ettore Buggati died at the age of 66 in 1947. This incident laid no hopes for the enhancement of this great vintage auto-major.
Years passed by and there were many changes in the ownerships for Buggati Automobiles. This continued till 1978 when Romano Artioli, an Itlian business tycoon acquired it. Artioli along with Marcello Gandini introduced Buggati EB110 in 1991 which was equipped with 3.5 liter 553 bhp, V12 quad turbo engine had the caliber to attain speedmark of 351 km/h. Due to insufficient demands its production was closed and the company was again on the verge of shutdown due to mismanagement.
A golden era for Buggati came when, the leading German car manufacturer, Volkswagen bought Buggati. Under the authority of Volkswagen an all new EB118 was designed with 18- cylinder powerful engine possessing the engine capacity of 6255 cc. Many other coupe and sport models were also introduced after the grand success of EB118. In 2006, Buggati made the world’s fastest and most expensive car, Buggati Veyron which was equipped with 16 cylinders with four turbochargers and also had the capacity to attain maximum speed of 253 miles per hour.
