With the festive season fading away, new car launches & facelifts will take a breath. They will come zooming in by the end of this year or early 2013. Indian auto market witnessed cheering growth in the past one month of festivals and the market is now expected to slow down a bit but what will keep them afloat is the flurry of new launches coming soon. Below are the models that will shoulder the responsibility of driving the market to new heights in the next year.
Mahindra e2o :-
Marching towards the trend of ‘Go Green’ with the subsidiary unit REVA, Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to introduce its first EV, the ‘e2o’. Bestowed with a Lithium Ion Battery, Mahindra e2o is said to run around 100 kms with a full charge of eight hours. Moreover, it will be damn efficient in terms of power with 39.4 bhp peak power and will have top speed of 104 kmph. It is also said to carry extremely stunning graphics unlike the previous India EV, Reva NXR. You will spot Mahindra e2o with enticing cosmetics graphed by its Clear lens headlights with corner indicators, Honeycomb front grille with Mahindra badge, Raise hood like a crossover, Reflector tail lamps and fancy body coloured bumpers.
The most anticipated car of the year 2012 but its launch was delayed for unknown reasons. Though, the compact SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) still remains one of the most desired vehicles among Indian car enthusiasts. The dynamic vehicle is speculated to be unleashed by February next year. With its stunning outfit, Ford EcoSport SUV will boast of cherished award winning 1.0 litre ecoboost engine which assures better fuel economy and exceptional power of that of conventional 1.5 litre engines.
Honda Amaze :-
Enlarged version of Honda Brio, the Honda Amaze is much anticipated sedan of 2013. Limited in four meters length Honda Amaze is expected to be priced competitive in order to attract larger volume of buyers. Sources say that Amaze would be introduced on the domestic shores in efficient 1.2 Litre petrol and a new 1.5 litre diesel engine. With the introduction of new diesel engine, it will be Honda’s first diesel car in the Indian auto-market. Being the three-box version of Brio, the Amaze is expected to carry similar features like its two-box sibling.
Tata Nano Diesel:-
Known as the cheapest car in India, Tata Nano is all set to change its identity by being the most fuel efficient car of the world. The reason is the efficient Tata Nano Diesel arriving soon on the domestic shores. Although the sales statistics of Tata Nano Petrol has not been up to the expectations of the company but with the new Nano Diesel the auto-giant, Tata Motors expects to establish its monopoly in the entry level hatchback segment. The Nano diesel is said to deliver mileage of around 35 kmpl and expectations are that the company would let it go on sale by end of 2013.
The Czech Republic iconic brand, Skoda Motors is soon going to introduce its much popular sedan, the Octavia with revamped looks in the Indian auto-market. Long back Skoda phased out the Octavia in order to give a rise to premium sedan Skoda Laura. Now with the rising competition and scope for mid-size sedans, the company is all set to introduce the third generation Octavia based on MQB Platform. The upcoming Skoda Octavia sedan will be a combination of stunning looks and capacious cum lavish interiors.
Mercedes A-Class :-
Inspired from the fabulous results of compact premium crossovers BMW X1 and Audi Q3, the premium car manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz is also going to introduce its Mercedes A-Class compact crossover in the Indian auto-market by June 2013. Already this luxury compact machine has gained popularity across the globe and now the company foreseeks to get its edge on the rising compact crossover market in India. Anticipations are that the Mercedes A-Class Compact SUV will be introduced in both diesel and petrol engines along with the package of exciting features.
Hyundai i10 Diesel:-
The South Korean automaker is busy working on its next generation Hyundai i10 model which will mark entry for a new 1.1 litre diesel motor. The company is also working on a new 1.0 litre Kappa engine that is expected to offer more mileage than the outgoing model. With the new diesel trim up its sleeves, Hyundai i10 will now takes the rivalry head on with its new diesel competitors in the name of Maruti Suzuki Ritz, Chevrolet Beat, etc. The car is expected to roll out by end of this fiscal.
Maruti Suzuki A-Star Facelifted:-
Despite its best-in-class cabin, Maruti A-Star hasn’t fared that well; one of the concerns being its debatable styling. However, Maruti is ready with the refurbished version of A-Star which appears more tempting and appealing than the present model. Speculated to be unleashed in January, 2013, facelifted Maruti A-Star has got redesigned front fascia with angular headlamps taking place of the tear drop ones employed earlier while the rear end will be kept similar to the outgoing model.
