India, the second fastest growing automobile market has been admirable the way it has progressed in last couple of years. With the boom in the domestic auto-industry many auto-grands are eyeing to broaden themselves with the introduction of new cars in the automotive market. This year, automotive brands like Volkswagen, Hyundai Motors, Tata Motors and Chevrolet have been one cloud nine with their innovative introductions and complimentary market strategies. Though, the contribution of small cars have been high in the total sales till October, this year, but the companies and planning to bring in a wide range of crossovers on the domestic shores.

This year Mahindra Scorpio, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV500, BMW X1, Mahindra Thar, Ford Endeavour, Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne, Honda CR-V and Land Rover Range Rover have been in the lime light due to their extreme off-road capabilities, commendable features, cool dynamics and premium comforts. For the domestic SUV enthusiasts we have brought the collection of five much awaited SUVs in 2012.

1)Tata Merlin – The popular Indian car maker, Tata Motors’ power churner, Tata Safari is speculated to come with a new badge, refined looks and a new name ‘Tata Merlin’. This car is expected to hit Indian shores by the second half of 2012. According to the sources, Tata Merlin will be loaded with the same 2.2 liter dicor diesel engine and will be slated in the price range of Rs. 10 – 12 lakhs. Moreover, this upcoming nominal ranging crossover will have more blendy and more sporty dynamics that will be a threat for other ruling SUVs in the in the similar price range.

2)New Volkswagen Touareg – Volkswagen India is planning to bring in the newly refined variant of its outstanding crossover, the Touareg. The 2012 Touareg is expected to be launched in the domestic by the first quarter of coming year. So far, the company has not disclosed any price details of this car, but as per the close sources, this car would be slated around Rs. 55 – 60 lakhs. As far as the powertrain is concerned, the new Touareg is speculated to be loaded with a 3.0 liter diesel inline, which will have added Going Green and Blue-motion Technology.

3)Audi Q3 – Audi India, the subsidiary unit of auto-grand Volkswagen in India, is all set to introduce another member in its Q series crossover line up. The premium car maker, Audi would introduce the Q3 crossover in the domestic market by the first quarter of 2012. As far as the price of this premium crossover is concerned, speculations are that the company would slate the price of this car in the range of Rs. 20 – 27 lakhs. From the price it seems that Audi Q3 would be for sure a warning for SUV cars like Ford Endeavour, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson, Toyota Fortuner and BMW X1.

4)Chevrolet Trailblazer – Chevrolet, the subsidiary unit of General Motors is planning to stun the crossover market with its upcoming hilarious SUV, the Trailblazer. This car is expected to land on the domestic shores by June – July, next year. Expectations are that Chevrolet Motors would slate the price of this amazing SUV between Rs. 19 – Rs. 22 lakhs. Overseas, the Trailblazer has been applauded due its sporty and sturdy build. Chevrolet Trailblazer will be best suite for those who want to explore off-road conditions with premium comfort levels in their SUVs.
5)Ford Kuga – Ford India, the American breed car maker in India is planning to introduce a nominal ranging crossover on the domestic shores by June, 2012. Named Ford Kuga, this Sports Utility Vehicle is expected to come in the range of Rs. 14 – Rs. 18 lakhs. With sporty dynamics, premium level comforts and appreciable features, Kuga might give a stiff competition to other SUVs like Skoda Yeti, Hyundai Tucson, Ford Endeavour, Honda CR-V and Chevrolet Captiva.
