The Country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch its much awaited and the first ever premium sedan Maruti Kizashi in the Indian market. The new car is expected to hit the Indian roads by the fall of year 2010. The Kizashi sedan is already available in the US and Japanese market where it has been receiving an overwhelming response from the buyers of that market. The company had showcased this model at the Delhi International auto expo in the month of January this year where it proved showstopper at the company’s platform by attracting a large number of car enthusiasts. The Maruti Kizashi model comes blessed with highly sophisticated technology and a passenger comfort oriented design. The new Maruti sedan sensation is expected to be rolled-out in both two and four wheel drive options in the country. The new handsome hunk sedan will be competing with the likes of Chevrolet Cruze, Toyota Camry, Skoda Laura and Honda Accord in the Indian market. Here is a detailed review of this new Maruti sedan on different aspects.

Engine & Specifications:- The new sedan sensation carries a 2.4 L, 4 cylinders DOHC engine that comes mated with a sophisticated six-speed manual transmission gearbox. The powerful engine of the Kizashi model is capable of delivering a maximum power of 185 bhp in combination with a peak torque of 170 Nm. It is also expected that company will roll-out a CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) joined variant of Kizashi which will be out-pouring a bit less peak power of 180 hp along with 170 Nm of peak torque.

Interior:- The Maruti Kizashi sedan carries one of the most artistic and highly comfort oriented interior. The car’s interiors are not only sublime in quality but also are well furnished. However, the Indian version of the car may undergo a few changes. The Kizashi sedan hosts a class leading infotainment system such as an advanced audio system. The Kizashi sedan has been made considerably roomier from inside by providing ample space for legs and head along with an array of storage spaces. The other major attractions of the Kizashi’s interior includes  dual top fabric finish, Power steering with power windows, Smartpass keyless technology and advanced AC with climate control.

Exterior:- The four door sedan has been blessed with a never before exterior designing and an admirable road presence. The front of the car carries an amalgamation of elegancy and aggressiveness. Its exterior comes featured with a range of exciting and attractive features that comprises of monochromatic front and rear bumpers, uniquely designed rectangular fog lamp, an stylish honey comb grille, LED turn indicators, Body color OVRM’s and door handles, auto wash and wipers, an eye catching U shaped lower grille, park assist at rear and larger alloy wheels (17 to 18 inch).

Safety:- As the Kizashi is a premium range sedan, it hosts an array of advanced active and passive safety equipments that includes multiple air-bags (including front, rear and curtain airbags), intelligent vehicle stability program, Traction Control System, ABS (antilock braking system) that comes mated with EBD (electronic brake-force distribution), energy absorbing rim for by passers safety, day time running lights and seat belts with advanced 3 point Electronic Locking Reactor, height adjuster and force limiter.

Dimensions & Measurements :- Maruti Kizashi is a five-seater sedan. Its exterior dimensions are as follows – height – 1480mm; length – 4650 mm; width- 1820mm. Its ground clearance is about 145mm and turning radius is 18 Ft.

Mileage:- On Indian roads, the Maruti Kizashi model is expected to offer a mileage of up to 11 km/l in city areas and about 14 km/l on highways.

Performance:- Blessed with a range of performance boosting features, the Kizashi sedan proves an ultimate performer on the roads. Carrying a smoother and highly sophisticated engine, the Kizashi sedan takes mere 8.4 seconds to cross the 60 km/h mark. Handling the car is easy as it zips through the roads with the help of its class leading acceleration and pick-up characteristics.

Price:- Though the company is yet to disclose the pricing details of this car for the Indian market, it is widely speculated that the first ever premium sedan in Maruti’s India Portfolio will be rolled-out in the price bracket of Rs 12 lakh to Rs 16 lakh.

Ratings:- As the Kizashi sedan is yet to be tested on Indian road conditions, rating it is not feasible as of now. However, as it is counted among the best performer in its domestic market Japan, it is expected to be rated by three or more stars on a five star rating scale.
