Volkswagen Vento’s Diesel Version to Get Costlier

The German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen is planning to make the diesel variant of its mid-sized sedan Volkswagen Vento costlier by 2.2% from July onwards with an objective to compensate with higher material costs. Although there will be no hike in price for the petrol variant of Vento, as mentioned by the company in an issued statement.

As of now, the diesel variant of Volkswagen Vento comes in a price range of Rs. 7.99 lakh to Rs. 9.24 lakh while on the contrary petrol version of Vento is tagged in a range of Rs. 6.99 lakh to Rs 9.22 lakh, all price tags mentioned are according to ex-showroom, Delhi.

Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. Member of Board & Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Neeraj Garg expressed, “We have seen no relent in the input costs over several months now, which has forced us to increase the cost of the Vento.”

He further added in his statement, “On the other hand we are fully aware that customers who prefer the petrol variants are already faced with the burden of increased fuel costs and therefore we have decided to continue absorbing the additional costs for our petrol variants.”

So the passengers striving to get the Vento’s diesel version, must book their models on or before 30th June 2011, to get the car without the hiked price tag, as said by Volkswagen India.
