Toyota Etios Earning Success, Crosses 1 Lakh Sales Mark

Toyota Kirloskar Motors is jumping with joy and accomplishment after earning more success for its entrancing, exotic and excellent Etios range. The company has achieved a significant sales mark by making a business of selling one lakh units of Etios cars comprising of both sedan Etios and hatchback Liva.

The market conditions are quite tough but in spite of the same, Toyota made a difference of attaining good response and commendable sales target. With flourishing demand for Etios cars, now the Japanese carmaker is planning to enhance its annual production output of the series from current 1,20,000 cars to 2,10,000 units by beginning of year 2013.

“The new sales milestone achieved by us is important. We thank our precious one lakh customers who trusted us and showed keenness in buying our brand of vehicle along with appreciating the same. And this one lakh sales mark is achieved despite critical and unfortunate conditions like tsunami in Japan and the floods in Thailand,” the managing director of TKM, Hiroshi Nakagawa said.

Etios was crafted as per the Indian auto market and the vehicle with remarkable success also made its way to international auto destinations. Last month in April 2012, Toyota exported its first shipment to South Africa and further aims to ship 20,000 units every year. In addition, the company is also considering way to localize the manufacturing of vehicle’s key components like engine and transmission from 70% to 90% by next year.

According to automaker, it will produce 1 lakh engines annually from the third quarter of this year and 240,000 transmissions yearly by early 2013.
