Tata Motor’s Nano Sales Yet To Make Big

As the time is passing, it’s been almost more than two years that Tata Motors has changed the location for manufacturing Nano from Singur in West Bengal to Sanand in Gujarat. And so in last couple of years after the launch of people’s car Nano, the vehicle experienced fluctuating sales numbers and even after terrific hype, Nano failed to convert the same into flourishing business.

Tata Motors launched its much talked about small car Nano way back in March 2009 and since then the automaker has managed to make a business of only 1.75 lakh units.

Last financial year i.e. – 2011-12, Tata Nano recorded cumulative sales of 74,527 units, a fine increase of mere 6% in contrast to previous fiscal’s sales of 70,432 units.

An official from Tata Motors expressed, “Tata Nano sales are progressively flourishing and the car is now earning good response, especially the 2012 variant. From January to March 2012, Nano posted a good hike in sales from 7,223 to 9,217 to 10,475 units for January, February and March respectively.”

Despite of growing sales number, Tata Nano still lacks that vitality and spirit because its overall sales growth or the cumulative count of 1.75 lakh unit sales for three years from July 2009 to March 2012 seems quite unimpressive. This appears all the more heartbreaking for the leading Indian automobile manufacturer as the company received 2.06 lakh bookings after the car’s official launch in the country on March 23rd 2009.

But now with 2012 improved version, Tata Nano seems to offer some great and awesome updates along with advance features and specifications, aiming to target the youth of the country. Hopefully, all the charms and the one lakh price tag will be able to showcase the glory hidden behind Tata Nano.
