SUV Segment Rocks, Now Fiat India Too Ready To Drive into the Same

Italian auto giant Fiat is ready to explore the Indian sports utility vehicle market as the segment is rocking and attracting a good number of customers. With such a huge response being offered to SUV sector, even Fiat is ready to drive in with an aim to boost its market share in the country, as confirmed by reports from company’s senior official.

Fiat India Head – Commercial Operations, Mr. Enrico Atanasio stated, “We are soon bringing in some great products and brands in next few years, especially for the speedily flourishing SUV segment. With new exciting products we are aiming to grab 4.5% market share in the country.”

Currently Fiat has less than 0.5% share in the domestic auto market and it is further looking to craft new models for the SUV segment like 500X and 500L. Moreover the automaker is also planning a five-seater MPV Qubo for India, as mentioned by close source, declined to reveal the name. Fiat is even performing a feasibility study about bringing in its American brand Jeep.

Mr. Enrico Atanasio also mentioned, “We desire to make Fiat brand all the more strong in India and also aim to keep its legacy alive in local market.”

The SUV segment of India is going through a rocking phase and presently it is the most fruitful sector with spruced up sales volumes in the first quarter of this financial year, outshining other segments. Therefore Fiat too is focusing on the same to promote its name along with enhancing the sales count.
