Renault Sizzles Indian Shores with New Scala @ Rs. 6.99 L

The French automobile manufacturer, Renault today launched its new offering for the country – the scintillating saloon Scala at an introductory price of Rs. 6.99 lakh. The new model is now available in both the fuel options – petrol and diesel, the base RxE petrol variant is priced at Rs. 6.99 lakh while the high-end diesel RxZ model is tagged with a price of Rs. 9.57 lakh.

The new Scala now sizzle Indian auto market with five variants – Petrol versions RXE and RXL with Manual Transmission, RXL with CVT Automatic Transmission and rest two diesel options – RXL and RXZ. The engines engrafted in the models are a 1.5 liter petrol unit, delivering 97.6bhp power and 13.6kgm torque whereas other is a 1.5 liter dCi diesel unit, which is capable of producing 84.8bhp power and 20.4kgm torque.

The diesel version of Scala offers a fuel economy of 21.65kmpl whereas the petrol variant gives out a mileage of 16.95kmpl, as per ARAI certification.

We can rightly proclaim the fact that the Renault Scala is yet another model with badge alterations as it is entirely based on Nissan Sunny. Although the look of the sedan is bit modified and appears cooler than model Nissan because of trendy headlamps, new alloy wheels plus aggressive & stylized outlook. But entering the cabin, all seems quite similar and almost everything resembles the Sunny.
