Porsche is eying its bright future in the Indian auto market and in order to boost its sales has appointed Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd as the official importer of its cars in the country.
Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing, Porsche said that India is an important market for them and with rising demand; Porsche has a promising future here.
Now, the company looks to raise its brand value and enhance its dealership network across the country. Indian auto market expert, Anil Reddi with 16 years of national and international automobiles experience will be the man incharge of the operations for Porsche in India.
With the latest agreement, the German holding company would be able to explore new opportunities and openings in the Indian auto market, Managing Director of Porsche Middle East and Africa FZE, George Wills said. He further quoted that development of emerging markets is important for the company which hopes that the Indian auto industry will continue to grow in the coming future especially with Porsche’s new models lined up.
Gearing up the sales of Porsche models isn’t a problem and that is something of pride for the company, Anil Reddi – Head of Porsche Division at Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd said. Indian customers expect lot of things from their vehicle and Porsche cars will not meet that but will give them something extra, he added. Reddi was confident that his team of dedicated professionals will take Porsche’s presence in the country to next level.
Overall 1,052 cars have been exported till now since its launch in 2004 and majority of them were Porsche Cayenne.
