Mercedes-Benz, the luxury car maker in India availed a classy driving experience to Mercedes-Benz patrons in India. Few lucky car owners of Mercedes-Benz in India got the opportunity to smash their Mercedes-Benz luxury sedans and crossovers on the latest build, Buddh International Circuit in Noida.

These selected lucky Mercedes-Benz car owners drove their flock of luxury cars like the G55 AMG, the E63 AMG and the SLS AMG on the same charming track where many popular F1 race masters like Schumacher and Vettel showed their driving skills in the recently held Grand Indian Pix.

 

NID May Offer A Facelift for Nano

With a sharp drop in the sales and production far below 50% at Tata’s Sanand factory which is actually designed to produce 2.50 lakh cars annually, Tata Motors has thought of working on giving facelift to the existing design of its Nano – the world’s cheapest car as much acclaimed NID or National Institute of Design is found to be showing interest in it.

Tata has sold some 1.30 lakh of its Nano cars ever since its launch in April 2009 and now it has launched a brand new look of the car this week which offers increased mileage of about 25.4 kmph, earlier which was 23.6 kmph and now there are more colors to choose from which are available without any change in the price tag.

 

Ending 2011 brings diversified discounts by various car makers in India

This year has been quite disappointing for the car makers in India. Not even the festive season of Dussehra, Eid & Diwali could boost the diminishing sales stats of the Indian auto industry. Moreover, the hike in fuel prices and peaking car loan interest rates has largely affected the overall sales in India.

To mount up the sales in the domestic auto industry many major car makers are offering various discounts and rebates on the car purchase. The American car maker in India, Ford Motors India have earlier announced today that they are availing discount of Rs. 75,000 on the purchase of Ford Fiesta petrol top variant, which cost  Rs. 8.45 lakhs.

 

Toyota & Honda seeking for new markets to maintain the production flow

The two Japanese car legends in India, Toyota Kirloskar and Honda SIEL are seeking for alternative markets to maintain their production flow, due to the flood crisis in Thailand, which is the major spare parts supplier in Asia. It is estimated that Toyota Kirloskar has incurred total loss of 800 – 1000 units which is almost 8 – 10 percent of the total production because of the flood crisis. Now, Toyota is seeking ahead for the alternative spare parts manufacturing in Indonesia and Philippines to meet the demands for the Innova and the Fortuner in the Indian sub-continent.

However, Honda SIEL is approximated to incur total loss of more than 60 – 70 percent of its output. To meet the demands across the Asian auto market, the company is in conversation with the China and Japan.

 

Renault Duster to Come With Five New Avatars

Renault India Private Limited, the Indian unit of Renault S.A. of France, is planning another launch in the Indian auto market in mid 2012. The next launch is an SUVRenault Duster, the fourth offering from French automaker to the domestic market.

The company has not revealed much detail about the new sport utility vehicle but according to sources the Duster is all set to be unveiled in the middle of next year. Moreover on the charts is that the new Renault Duster will be launched in five new variants both in petrol and diesel options. Also the engine specifications related to the vehicle are not clear; however the Renault Duster is expected to come powered with 1.6 liter for the petrol variant and 1.5 liter for the diesel version. The same engine also powers sedan Renault Fluence and Mahindra Verito.

 

BMW Likely To Miss 2011 Sales Target as Market Becomes Unpredictable

BMW, India’s leading luxury automaker shared the views that this year the company will not be able to achieve its yearly sales figures as day by day the Indian auto market is getting tough and unpredictable. BMW projected a target of selling 10,000 units in the domestic market but now the same seems shadowy due to sagging auto sales.

The President of BMW India Andreas Schaaf expressed to reporters, “Yes, the domestic market is increasingly turning very tough to handle and we could miss our target of selling 10,000 units this year.”

 

BMW kicks off its used car business in the country

Learning from its country mate Mercedes, BMW launched its pre-owned car business in this part of the world seeking the immense potential in the used car market. Earlier this year, Mercedes had also introduced its car leasing business in India. With the Bavarian car manufacturer making its entry in the second hand car market, the customers can now get the premium car for as low as Rs 16 lakh.

BMW India President Andreas Schaaf said that till last month they had sold 8,042 cars in the country which accounted for around 40 per cent of the total luxury car sales in India. He further added that the introduction of BMW Premium Selection will further strengthen its subcontinent hold.

 

Nissan avails exclusive benefits of INR 52,000 on its sedan Sunny

Nissan Motors has introduced an exclusive limited period offer on its mid-size sedan, the Sunny in which buyers would get sake of Rs. 52,000. This exclusive offer will last till 30th November, this month. According to a local dealer in Pune, this offer includes insurance of Rs. 27,000 and free accessories worth Rs. 25,000. The price of insurance Rs. 27,000 would be directly deducted from the on-road price of the car.

The rest, Rs. 25000 will avail the buyers with a facility to choose from a diversified range of car accessories which include; sun shades, floor mats, seat covers etc. In addition, the buyers can also add on exterior cosmetic features like mud guards, door visor, rear trunk garnish, alloy wheels, seat belt pads, boot spoiler, body side mouldings etc. Furthermore, the buyers can also choose interior accessories to enhance their comforts like the neck pillows for rear seats, pillow sets for rear seats etc. In this offer, steering covers are also availed by the company that would be incurred in that Rs. 25000 as an extra accessory.

 

Flood forces Honda to shut the production of City, Brio to follow soon

Honda Seil Cars India (HSCI) is going through tough times as the supply constraints get affected from the flood in Thailand resulting in massive loss to the company. The unavailability of parts has forced the Japanese company to stop the production of its popular sedan, City. The recently unleashed hatchback Brio is next in the list of Honda cars to be stopped due non availability of auto parts while Jazz’s production is slashed by a few hundred units. Company is leaving no stone unturned to normalize the manufacturing and is making immediate arrangements to source auto parts from China and Japan.

As per company officials, the production needs to be cut down by 95 percent in the next month. Jnaneswar Sen, senior VP at HSCI said that report is true and that the supply will be badly hit in December. He added that they are looking for assistance from China and Japan to bring things back to normal but the company is uncertain about their response.

 

Skoda India introduces online bookings for its ‘Rapid’

After the successful innings of Skoda Octavia in the domestic auto market, the auto-grand, Skoda India is back in the C – segment with the recently launched Skoda Rapid. With Rapid on streets, the company, Skoda Automobiles is now looking ahead to boost up their C – segment position and is speculating that this car would play the role of key contributors in overall sales in India.

Skoda Auto India is expecting positive sales results from this entry level sedan. The company expects that the sales of Rapid would contribute to 50 percent of the total sales in the domestic market by next year. Skoda Auto India has targeted to sell 2,000 units of Rapid per month. Thomas Kuhel, director sales marketing, Skoda Auto India stated that the company is intending to strengthen itself in the C – Segment with its Rapid.
