With Nano At 5,784 units, Tata Motors Posts Sales Growth Of 31% In Dec 2010

The Indian auto giant Tata Motors has registered a sales growth of about 30.63 percent in the month of Dec 2010. The company sold a total of 67,441 units of its cars during this month as compared to 51,627 units sold in the same month last year.

In the domestic market, the company registered a growth of 34.48 percent to 19,706 units during this month. The sales of Tata’s small creation – Nano – surged to 5,784 units during this month, accounting a growth of over 60 percent over the units sold in same period preceding year.

The sales of company’s popular ‘Indica’ series of cars grew by over 40 percent to 5,923 units during this month over the units sold in the same month last year. On the other hand, the sales of Tata Indigo series stood at 5,234 units, accounting a marginal increase of 3 percent over the previous year.

The company registered a growth of over 62 percent to 2,765 units in the sales of its sports utility vehicles (SUV) including Tata Sumo and Safari, during this month.

Tata Motors’ exports grew by over 69.18 percent during this to 5,809 units as compared to 3,454 units dispatched to the overseas market last year.
