M&M Proposed a Plan to Craft Rs. 3,000 Cr Plant in Uttarakhand

The largest utility vehicle maker in the country, Mahindra & Mahindra has proposed a plan to make a good amount of investment of Rs. 3,000 crore to craft a new manufacturing facility in Uttarakhand, as per the state government.

According to a quote remarked by state government, “Mahindra group has proposed to establish a project worth Rs. 3,000 crore.”

The President (Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors) of Mahindra & Mahindra, Mr. Pawan Goenka showed a keen interest to establish a plant in Uttarakhand and for the same purpose he met the state’s Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Bahuguna on 26th April.

The company is planning to set up the production plant with an initial capacity of 2.5 lakh units per annum. M&M has searched a 500 acre land in Uttarakhand for its new plant and is keen to offer Rs. 200 crore for supplier unit.

The meeting and discussions held between two key persons reveal that the proposed plan may soon get approval as Chief Minister Bahuguna remarked that the government would definitely try to provide the land to Mahindra at Sitargunj for the project, also mentioned in the statement issued.

When inquired about the details and planning of new plant, the spokesperson from M&M said, “Mr. Goenka met the Chief Minister of state to talk about the potential future investment by the company in the state for its new manufacturing unit. The discussion is still at its initial stage and nothing is confirmed.”
