Mahindra & Mahindra has launched facelifted version of its Verito sedan within a price range of Rs 5.27 lakh – Rs 7.14 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). Available in both petrol and diesel trims; Mahindra Verito is speculated to give a fierce competition to close rivals Maruti Swift’s Dzire, Ford’s Classic and Toyota’s Etios.
Facelifted Verito is marginally costlier to about Rs 7,000 – Rs 19,000 on each models compared to its predecessor version. Sighting confidence in the new Verito, Pravin Shah – Mahindra chief executive for automotive division said that Mahindra Verito has shown tremendous increase in its demand in the last couple of years with the sales almost tripling. He said that they have sold around 18,000 units of Verito and are optimistic about the revamped version of Verito to further boost its sales & outclass automotive industry’s fiscal growth.
President of Mahindra’s automotive and farm division, Pawan Goenka also sounded similar and said that Verito was always a good product with its fuel efficient engine and comfortable interiors; however, the styling of Verito was not liked by consumers so the company took feedback and is now ready with a more charismatic Verito. He added that it’s not only exteriors even the interiors are given a refresh touch.
Apart from the facelifted Verito, a new sub four meter Verito is also in the making which is speculated to hit Indian roads by the end of next year. The vehicle will enjoy low excise duty and thus will take on Maruti’s Swift and Hyundai’s i20.
