M&M to Introduce Verito-Based Hatchback by Sept 2012

Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M), the ruling utility vehicle maker of the country has earned good progress since last few years with overwhelming success of its great SUVs. And now planning to explore some other segments as well, M&M is considering an option to soon unveil the Verito-based hatchback in the country by September 2012.

So now the tough and rugged car manufacturer is entering the small car segment and turning its not much appreciated sedan Verito into a hatchback for the Indian auto market, which appreciates small cars a bit more than sedans.  Also hatchback segment has much more to offer in terms of volume as well as business, and so Mahindra is taking a right turn towards hatches.

As per industry sources, Mahindra will bring in the Verito-based hatchback this year by September, which is quite near. This directly indicates that the company has done the complete final testing of the vehicle and is ready to make it soon run on the domestic shores. Therefore, customers as well as the auto market are eagerly waiting for some images and specifications of the first hatchback from Mahindra.

But as of now there are no spy images and detailing of the hatch based on sedan Verito revealed by Mahindra but this is for sure that the utility carmaker will price the vehicle competitively in order to gain that special place in volume driven hatchback segment. Also if the hatchback stands in a sub four meter length then M&M will also be spared of excise duty imposed by the government.
