Maruti Suzuki Sales Shoot Up By 25% for FY11

Once again climbing high with greater success, India’s largest and most trusted brand Maruti Suzuki posted a fine jump of 28.20% in its total sales for the March month to 1,21,952 units as against to 95,123 units in the same month last year.

While for the financial year 2010-11, the popular brand registered an outstanding sales of 24.81% to 12,71,005 units from 10,18,365 units in the previous year, according to a statement by Maruti Suzuki India (MSI). This march 2011 proves out to be very fruitful for the company with the amazing growth of 38.85% in sales in the domestic market to 1,10,424 units from 79,530 units in March 2010.

Though, the exports of Maruti Suzuki witnessed a decline by 26.07% to 11,528 units from 15,593 units as in last year.

The different car segments of Maruti Suzuki captured varied sales increase such as its best selling small car M800 saw a rise by 5.54% to 2,915 units from 2,762 units, the A2 segment comprising of Alto, WagonR, Estilo, Swift, A-Star and Ritz witnessed 43.27% growth in sales to 78,460 units from 54,762 units last year in the same month.

The A3 segment with SX4 and DZiRE in its grip registered a fine increase of 33.07% to 13,910 units from 10,453 units in the same period as of last year. Last month, Maruti Suzuki sold around 103 car units of its Kizashi luxury sedan after its launch in February 2011.

Domestic Sales facts of MSI reveal that the brand also posted a magnificent growth for the month of March with 30.08% raise to 11,32,739 from 8,70,790 units in last financial year. While Maruti’s total passenger car sales enhanced 40.32% to 95,388 units in March from 67,978 units in the same month last year.
