Maruti Suzuki Registers 9.2% Increment in July Sales

The most prominent auto ruler of India, Maruti Suzuki is gradually shining out of the recent violent rift at its Manesar plant as it registered 9.2% increase in the July sales. According to a statement issued by the automaker, the company sold 82,234 units in July as compared to75,300 units sold last year in the same month.

Maruti’s domestic sales in July posted 6.8% hike with 71,024 unit sales from a year ago period when the automaker sold 66,504 units.

The key model which grabbed major attention was the sedan Dzire as it drove the last month’s business by selling 11,413 units, almost registering four-fold increment.

Small car sales slid by 23.7% to 28,998 units, the segment include models M800, Alto, A-Star and WagonR. On the contrary the other bestselling models like Swift, Estilo and Ritz recorded a jump of 73.2% with sales of 15,759 units in last month of July.

During last month, Maruti sold mere 679 units of mid-sized sedan SX4, posting 70.5% drop in sales. Another slump was that the automaker sold only two units of the luxury sedan Kizashi.

Export was pretty flourishing with 27.4% rise last month with sales of 11,210 units from 8,796 units sold in July last year.
