Maruti Suzuki Kizashi Ready To Be Launched In India In January 2011

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), the country’s largest car maker, is gearing-up to launch its much anticipated premium range sedan – Maruti Kizashi – in the Indian market in January 2011. Initially, the company will be importing the Kizashi sedan as a completely built unit (CBU) in the Indian market. However, Maruti may decide to assemble the car in India itself after sales of this car picks-up. Kizashi is expected to be shelved in the price bracket of Rs 12 to Rs 15 lakh, where it will be locking horns with the popular cars of D-segment such as Toyota Corolla Altis, Chevrolet Cruze and Honda Civic.

The Kizashi sedan was showcased at the Delhi auto expo in January this year, where the car was proposed to come powered by a powerful 2.4L petrol engine. However, it has been speculated by the industry experts that the company now has changed its plan and will launch the Kizashi model with a lesser powered 2.0L engine, in a bid to keep its cost as low as possible.

The Suzuki Kizashi was launched in US market in July this year where it has been receiving good response from the buyers. The Indian version of the car would be approximately 4.6 meter long and 1.8 meter wide. The 18 inch aluminum wheels are also expected to find a place in the India bound Kizashi.
