Indore’s Pre-Owned Auto Market Posts Double Growth in Five Years

In last five years, the second hand car market of Indore is quickly progressing as its business has posted double growth. Basically in the city, all the major automobile manufacturers have got their own exclusive units for used vehicles and the same are offering profitable business to the makers. In Indore, Maruti-Suzuki has four second hand car showrooms; Tata Motors own three while Mahindra & Mahindra and Hyundai own two used car dealerships.

As per total car sales figures in the city of Indore, the pre-owned vehicle sales account of 30%, means 200-300 used cars are sold in the region. But the number was not so overwhelming three years ago and stood just at 10% of the total car sales.

More and more population is now drawing towards buying a second hand car from the market. Also the number is speedily increasing in comparison to people preferring to go for brand new vehicles.

The owner of Maruti Suzuki’s True Value, Mr. Uday K expressed, “Basically we convince our customers first to buy new cars rather than old ones. We even suggest them to sell their old cars to us and for that we deduct little sum of money of old car after getting it valued. Also at True Value we accept any car models no matter what brand name they boast.”

According to Hyundai dealer, Mr. Aditya Kasliwal, people like to buy high-end car variants but in case if they can’t afford the same, they turn to used car market as the same vehicle is available at a good reduced price, which fits in their budget.
