Hyundai & Maruti Suzuki, Both Speedily Executing its Plans for Diesel Cars after Petrol Price Rise

Leading automobile manufacturers in India like Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki are deeply agitated with the new sharp rise of petrol prices and therefore they both have planned to speedily execute their aims for soon launching the diesel cars in the country.

The current increase in petrol prices will fuel up the demand for diesel cars and the automakers offering best of the diesel versions will surely gain momentum in the market with beneficial sales progress. Industry sources already predicted the rise in demand for diesel cars after confronting the extending gap between both the fuels since last couple of years. Now more and more customers are eyeing to buy a diesel vehicle instead of its counterpart in spite of being aware about the costlier pricing and maintenance.

Also in last financial year, diesel car sales flourished by 35% whereas petrol vehicle sales posted a fine drop of 15% in the same period. Moreover, the percentage is likely to enhance after the recent hike where petrol is now Rs. 7.54/liter expensive.

Mayank Pareek, the Managing Executive Officer (Marketing & Sales) at Maruti Suzuki expressed, “The shift in preference from petrol to diesel is clearly visible. And now as per demand we are targeting the same by enhancing our internal diesel engine capacity. We will even outsource some diesel engines from Italian carmaker Fiat.”
