Hyundai Elantra to Hit Nepal Auto Market This January 2012

Hyundai, the leading auto giant is all geared up to launch a new car Elantra in Nepalese auto market next year in January 2012.

The new Elantra from the stable of Hyundai is a wonderful luxury sedan and will be on sales from coming January. Laxmi Intercontinental is the authorized distributor of Hyundai cars in Nepal and along with Elantra the firm will also launch Eon, the newly unveiled small car from Hyundai. In Nepal, Elantra is positioned above Accent and below Sonata in terms of price range.

The senior manger for planning & development at Laxmi Intercontinental, Mr. Rupesh Sharma Bhatta stated, “We’ve still not decided how many variants we are launching in Nepal and the price range is also not confirmed, but it will come in a price bracket of Rs. 3.5 to 4 million.”

The company is offering Hyundai Elantra for a specific segment in the country but still there is no sales target decided till yet. The new launch will compete against the likes of Toyota Corolla, Skoda Laura, Mazda 3, Kia Cerato and Honda Civic. Also the fifth generation Elantra is coming up in Nepal with complete new styling, greater performance output, finest fuel efficiency, more comfortable room and excellent safety features.

Mr. Bhatta commented, “The Elantra is an upgraded variant and flaunts new sporty look than its predecessor plus it is equipped with an all-new six-speed automatic transmission, which is designed for the first time for engine applications in small mid-sized passenger cars. Along with fresh look and appeal, the car will offer fantastic mileage and at par performance.”
