Ford To Introduce ‘EcoBoost’ Engines In India

The Indian unit of US based leading car maker Ford Motors is mulling over to launch its new Eco Boost technology in the Indian market with its upcoming cars in the Indian market. The company is planning to add as many as eight new car models in its India portfolio in coming five years. The company has indicated that after introducing this technology in the US market, the company is now wants to introduce it in its car in the Indian market.

The Eco Boost technology was first introduced in the US market about a year back where it is receiving an overwhelming response from the buyers, there. The engines based on new Eco Boost technology are not only over 20 percent fuel efficient but also decreases the emission level to up to 15 percent.

Moreover, the company is in the final stage of launching its pre-owned car business named as ‘Ford Approved’ in the Indian market.

Meanwhile, the company has firmed up its plans of exporting its popular hatch Figo to the 50 new markets across the world including regions like South America and North Africa. The company is planning to export as many as 10,000 units of Figo from India in year 2011, which can be seen as a big step ahead in the direction of establishing its small car exporting hub in the Indian market. Figo is taking on with some of the most popular hatchbacks in the Indian market that such as Chevrolet Beat, Volkswagen Polo and Nissan Micra.

Ford is currently one of the fastest emerging car makers in the Indian market and has been registering double digit growth figures since the starting of this year. Besides Figo, the company has some of the most competitive cars in its India stable including luxury SUV Endeavour, entry level sedan Fiesta and Ford New Ikon.
