Force Motors eyes future, to invest INR 1000 Crore in the next two years

Utility vehicle manufacturer, Force Motors Ltd disclosed their future strategy in the country. By the next two years, the Pune based car maker plans to invest INR 1000 crore on the research and development of new models in the country.

With the great response the company got from their recent launch Force One SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle), their determination is firm then ever and the announcement of the investment is an indication of the same. Force Motors Managing Director Prasan Firodia informed the media persons on the occasion of launching of Force One in Hyderabad yesterday.

He further added that company’s Madhya Pradesh facility has a capacity of rolling out one lakh units and expects massive turnover of Rs 3000 crore in the current financial year.

As far as Force One is concerned, the Director said that 2.2 FM tech turbocharged engine of the crossover can take on any other car in its segment at any given day.

In the meantime, company is planning to introduce a 9-seater van in the coming two years. Firodia said that a couple of months back they had signed an agreement with the German giant Mercedes Benz in this regard. Furthermore, the commercial automobile manufacturer plans for production of a small commercial vehicle of below two-tonne capacity.

He carried on by stating that the style and performance of the Force One SUV is ideal for Indian roads and that the company is speculating around 7000 units to be sold initially with the ultimate target of the firm is to reach sale of 1, 00,000 crossovers in the domestic market.

Extension of service network is also on the map of Force with its plan to spread the dealership network from current 20 to 44 in the coming years. Company is also planning to unleash two new variants of Force One shortly.
