After Figo’s Success, Ford Desires To Bring New Small Cars in India

Ford India experienced amazing response and great success after launching its premium hatchback Figo last year in March and to carry on the taste of fame in the country, the brand now desires to bring in some great small cars in a price range of fantastic Figo car. Figo earned astonishing sales of more than 1,00,000 units since its launch and also altered its long time image of being a quite efficient to drive but very expensive to maintain car. The smart car Figo has truly recreated the brand image of Ford in India with brilliant craftsmanship and excellent technology within a good price range retaining the brilliance of Ford’s superb quality in low cost of ownership.

And to further glorify its name in Indian auto market, Ford wishes to keep the pace down and introduce next few cars in the same price rage as of Figo. So, on the same aspect of introducing eight new products in India, Ford’s APAC President Mr. Joe Hinrich expressed, “Most of our eight products planned for launch by mid-decade would be in the Figo’s range as seventy per cent of car sales in India come from the small car segment.”

Ford India already declared its planned strategy to introduce seven new cars in the country by year 2015 after recently unveiling its luxury sedan Ford Fiesta. Among the seven products, two anticipated models that are likely to enter Indian market are sedan Ford Focus and Ford Mondeo and the market is eagerly waiting for the remaining five models that will fall in the same price tag as Figo’s and the brand’s future looks quite promising in the coming decade.
