The innovative and intelligent engineering students of Lovely Professional University, Punjab have done an applaudable job of building and designing a driverless car. Four students from the field of electronics & communication and mechanical engineering have showed their terrific talent of designing such an exclusive vehicle under the creative supervision of their advisors.
The car is set to be controlled with the help of a mobile phone and that too sitting at the end of any corner of the world. Most importantly the car can be easily directed in both auto and manual modes plus it comes with safety guards such as child lock, when being on auto mode. The car can superbly run in a day with tried and tested more than 1000kms along with the night vision mode.
The levelheaded team comprises of students namely, Bikas (MTech ECE), Lokesh Ramina (BTech ECE), Rahul Jain (mech engg) and Suvendu (mech engg). Expressing about their new achievement and success, the students said, “We are extremely delighted about the success of our future car. We collaboratively invented the car utilizing the internet, mobile phone, laptop, C+ programming language, microcontroller board with ATMEGA 128 IC under the electrical control circuit. And, many a times when we confronted hurdles in the project we were assisted by our mentors with needed help and moral boost.”
The Chancellor of the university, Ashok Mittal said, “The newly designed driverless car has used a wide variety of sensors and it can easily detect pedestrians, objects which will allow the car to slow or stop suddenly. As the vehicle is based on complete computerized technology, the car will be less prone to errors and accidents. Also the driverless technology would lead to fewer traffic jams and safety on roads.”
