The much hyped auto rickshaw replacement, Bajaj RE60 may see the Indian roads this festive season as per unconfirmed reports. Aimed at becoming the backbone of taxi transport in the country, Bajaj will tag the new, would be cheapest car RE60 within the Rs 1 lakh mark.
However, Bajaj Auto opted not to answer on the question whether it will be launched by late Diwali or not.
With the launch, Bajaj will shape out a new segment which would be hard to compete with. Presently, Bajaj Auto is the leader in the three wheeler market and produces them at its Aurangabad facility.
The all new Bajaj RE60 will be equipped with phenomenal 200 cc liquid cooled, single cylinder petrol engine designed and developed by the domestic giant. RE60 will be offered in two trims including a base variant and a feature packed trim.
Besides the breathtaking pricing, Bajaj RE60 is also a spectacular car with sensational 35 kmpl of fuel economy and a benchmark setter in liberating only 60 gpkm of carbon dioxide.
After the launch of RE60, Bajaj is also rumored to come up with a commercial load vehicle with factory fitted CNG kit along with the petrol one, in order to grab the massive commercial vehicle market of the country.
The small Bajaj RE60 car will help in reducing the pollution with its smart liquid cooled engine technology. Eyed as a substitute to auto rickshaw, Bajaj RE60 is expected to create a feel of excitement among the auto rickshaw users.
