Audi’s Production Output Enhanced by 50% to 9K Units

Audi, the name itself represents aura of assort and esteem admiration. And the German luxury auto giant is making wonders in the country with exclusive products and awesome services.

Now after unveiling A4 in the country, Audi has planned to increase the production output of its Aurangabad facility by 50% to 9,000 units.

Audi India Head, Mr. Michael Perschke stated, “We are ramping up the capacity by 50% and are also planning to build a new assembly hall, called hall C. It would contribute to production of another 3,000 cars.”

Audi’s manufacturing plant located in Aurangabad was established with an initial production capacity of 3,000 units per shift with one assembly line, which rolls out models such as A4, A6 and Q5. And now the output is doubled to 6,000 units with two shifts.

When inquired about Audi’s further investment in the country, Mr. Perschke expressed that as of now the firm is employing the current investments and once the initial investment of 30 million euro will be exhausted, the company may surely rethink its plans for further investment.

He added, “When Audi commenced its journey in India five years ago, the investment was calculated at around 30 million Euros. And till last year 20 million Euros are consumed.”

With prosperous business and progressing demand for Audi cars in the country, the brand is planning to launch atleast five to six new models in India along with S6, expected to hit Indian shores by this festive season.
