With the expansion of automobiles in India, the utility cars market has shown a significant growth. The utility segment in India is dominated by the auto-players Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra. Maruti Omni, Maruti Eeco, Tata Venture, Tata Winger, Mahindra Bolero and Chevrolet Tavera are the best selling MPVs on domestic shores, but in terms of affordable MPVs, Maruti Omni, Maruti Eeco and Tata Venture have their sole identity. Today, we have brought a comparison overview of the leading Indian MPVs, i.e. Maruti Omni vs Maruti Eeco vs Tata Venture.

Exteriors :-

Maruti Omni unveiled the concept of building sleek and attractive cars with innovative body structure, therefore it is renowned as India’s iconic Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV). The exteriors of Maruti Omni are good enough to grab the onlooker’s attention at first sight. Exteriors of this successful MPV are poised of Stylish front grille, magnificent clear lens lamps, Bigger and better Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs), Sleek side body graphics, Sliding middle cabin doors etc.

Maruti Eeco is another Maruti MPV whiz that is based on the platform of earlier Maruti MPV, the Versa. Maruti Eeco looks boxy from its exteriors as compared to Maruti Omni and Tata Venture. The exteriors of this car are enchanted by Front grilles, Clear lens headlamps, Front wipers, Sliding middle cabin doors, Rear headlamps, Wheel covers, Outsider rear view mirrors etc.

Tata Venture looks so-so in terms of looks, compared to Maruti Omni and Maruti Eeco, it looks unsymmetrical but as far as the build and rigidity concerned, it posses damn adorable looks. The exteriors of Tata Venture are poised of Attractive front grille, Sliding middle cabin doors, Front fog lamps, Body colored bumpers & door handles, Stylish wheel caps etc.

Interiors:-

Interiors of Maruti Omni fail to impress the owners, as Maruti Eeco and Tata Venture have better and comfortable seat arrangement. Also, the fabric upholstery and dash board quality are not so pleasing.

Interiors of Maruti Eeco are far better than Maruti Omni, but not as good as Tata Venture. The interiors of Maruti Eeco avail the passengers with better leg room and shoulder space compared to Maruti Omni.

Tata Venture is designed considering the modern enthusiasts requirements, hence this pullman has cool interior designs and trims with ample of space for the passengers to accommodate with ease.

Engine and Specifications:-

Maruti Omni is available in 0.8 liter petrol and LPG variants. The 796 cc engine of this utility car churns maximum power of 35 bhp at 5000 rpm and peak torque of 6.1 kgm at 3000 rpm.

Maruti Eeco is available in 1.2 liter petrol and LPG variants. The 1196 cc engine of Eeco has caliber to churn maximum power of 73bhp at 6000rpm and maximum torque of 101Nm at 3000rpm.

Tata Venture comes mated by a 1.4 liter diesel engine options that can toss maximum power of 71 PS at 4500 rpm and maximum torque of 135 Nm at 2500 rpm.

Features :-

Maruti Omni has limited set of features that include; Adjustable front seat headrests, Steering lock, Glove compartment with lock, Front seat belts with lock, Dashboard with cupholders, 2 speed windshield etc.

Maruti Eeco is installed with features like Air-conditioner, Headlamp Leveling, Side Impact Beams, Child Lock for Sliding Doors, High Mount Stop Lamps, Reclining front seats, Multi Tripmeter, Tubeless Tyres etc.

In terms of features, Tata Venture is far ahead of Maruti Omni and Maruti Eeco as it comes bestowed with some amazing features like; Dual AC with roof integrated louvers, Power Steering, Rear Wiper, Rear Washer & Defogger, Reverse Guide System, Engine Immobilizer, Child Locks, External Antenna, Body Colored Bumpers & ORVMs etc.

Mileage

In terms of fuel efficiency, Maruti Omni leads Maruti Eeco and Tata Venture. Its 796 cc petrol engine has capability to deliver mileage of 13 kmpl in city conditions and 18 kmpl on highways.

The 1.2 liter petrol engine of Maruti Eeco has efficiency to deliver mileage of 11 kmpl in city conditions and 14 kmpl on highways, whereas, its CNG variant churns mileage of 16 kmpl in city conditions and 20 kmpl on highways.

The 1.4 liter diesel engine of Tata Ventures delivers mileage of 12 kmpl in city conditions and 16 kmpl on highways.

Price:-

Maruti Omni is placed competitively in the price range of Rs 2.12 lakh – Rs 2.50 lakh whereas Maruti Eeco is tagged in the price bracket of Rs 2.96 lakh – Rs 3.93 lakh and the tempting Tata Venture comes for impressive pricing of Rs 4.23 lakh – Rs 5.25 lakh (All prices are ex-showroom New Delhi).

Verdict:-

Maruti Eeco gets a nod ahead of its competitors for its great fuel efficiency and aggressive pricing. Maruti Omni is the next vehicle in the line up while Tata Venture is at the last for its high price.
