With Maruti Ertiga launched on 12th April 2012, the entry level SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) market has become more intense as competition soars up. Players like Mahindra & Mahindra are already ruling the segment and won’t tolerate the intervention of other players. Having its best selling SUVs like Mahindra Scorpio and Bolero, M&M is undoubtedly the undisputed leader of the segment. The less talked (& less sold) Skoda Yeti is also there on the edge of the sales sphere of compact SUVs. Let’s compare the Maruti Ertiga VS Mahindra Scorpio VS Skoda Yeti on the basis of their following factors:-
Sophisticated compact styling of Maruti Ertiga makes its maneuvering perfect for the city traffic and in narrow parking spaces. Peeled back clear headlamps, fabulous flare fenders, smart rear spoiler, newly designed extended tail lamps and overall sporty styling makes Maruti Suzuki Ertiga a pleasing vehicle to look at.
Mahindra Scorpio Ex carries powerful clear head lamps with horizontal slat front grill with Mahindra’s emblem nicely placed in between. Dual paint is done on the exteriors of this powerful machine having same colour theme for front bumper, side mirrors and door knobs. Lines and cues perfectly flow all around the body of the Scorpio. Aggressive and rugged looks make Scorpio a head turner.
Front headlamps of Skoda Yeti have been made expressive by sweeping them through the sides. The round shape lamps with daytime running lights have been located at the side of head lamps and fog lamps. Same as front head lights, the rear lights have also been extended to the wings. Other mentionable attractions of the exterior of Yeti include crossways roof-rack and an electrically adjustable two-part panoramic sun roof.
On the exterior front, we rate Skoda Yeti’s looks to be better followed by Ertiga and then Mahindra Scorpio.
