With great acclamation and praise since then, the brand gave a thought to unveil the model with a distinguished face-lift. So as the launch is getting nearer, surely we can measure the uniqueness of Maruti Suzuki’s new Dzire vs old Dzire. The outgoing model of Dzire is an extremely amazing sedan with a stylized designing and at par performance and so will be the new upcoming model of 2012. Though the newer generation Dzire is bit in compact form with squeezed rear, definitely the new Dzire vs old Dzire will confront some allegations in future in terms of space or designing. Of course the auto giant Maruti Suzuki is betting big in the auto industry by making the new model of Dzire position in the sub-4 meter segment for cutting the excise duty.

So let’s take a brief compare overview of the two distinguished models new Dzire and old Dzire from the same stable Maruti Suzuki from various angles and perspective.

Engine, Specification & Performance:-

The very efficient entry-level sedan Dzire is being offered in both K-series diesel and petrol engine mated with 5-speed manual transmission. The petrol variant is engrafted with 1298cc 16-valve engine that tosses out 87 bhp @ 6000 rpm and top torque of 113 Nm @ 4500 rpm. On the contrary the diesel option is powered with 1248cc turbocharged DDiS engine churning out impressive power 75 bhp @ 4000 rpm and peak torque of 190 Nm @ 2000 rpm. The dashing Dzire cruises from 0-100 kmph in just 13.8 seconds with a top speed of 169 kmph.

On the other side of the shore stands desirable Dzire, which is currently hidden and slightly peeping from its shell but the compact sedan promises a lot when it will be out of the shell. Checking out the engine specifications, the new 2012 variant of Dzire steals its power from the K12 M VVT petrol engine that produces 85.8 bhp @ 6000 rpm and 11.6 kgm @ 4000 rpm along with automatic gearbox (CVT). On the diesel front, the Dzire come power packed with 1.3 liter DDiS diesel motor, capable of churning out 73.9 bhp @ 4000 rpm and 19.37 kgm @ 2000 rpm. Moreover the petrol Dzire quickly moves from 0-100 kmph in just 12.6 seconds while the diesel version cruises from 0-100 kmph in mere 14.8 seconds.

Exteriors:-

The older version of Maruti Suzuki Dzire is quite sporty in appearance with some tint of bold look. It not only attracts and leaves a fascinating dynamism on the shores plus makes the owner and admirers go completely charmed with its neat and simple expressions. The front grill in chrome finish with peeled back headlamps adds to the simplicity plus the additional trunk component never interrupts the visuality and perfectly blends with the designing, superbly boasting the brand logo. The exteriors are further more enchanted with body colored bumpers, rear view mirrors and door handles plus sporty alloy wheels adds to the beauty.

The new generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire 2012 is almost uniquely identical from front to its predecessor. The complete aura is blessed with elegant interiors with quality enriched upholstery and sportive charm. The Dzire shares its steering wheel with the one used in SX4 plus the overall crafting of instrument panel adds the grace.

Maruti Suzuki kept in mind that this time with all-new Dzire they want to attract more customers with all the more fine looking interiors. And so the automaker graced the cabin with dual-tone crafting, making the sedan look completely different from the outgoing model. More on the list is a new steering wheel, integrated audio system and auto climate control, which is sparkled with some silver trimming. The wooden finish is adding a more refined look plus the lighter beige and black upholstery contribute to the roomy elegant interiors.

Comfort and Convenient:-

Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire is still the best sedan on road with some amazing comforting features that adds to the convenience. The features comprises of remote fuel lid opener, cigarette lighter, antenna, vanity mirrors, digital display trip meter, sun visor, day and night rear view mirror, dash integrated audio system and demister. Storage space is ample and so no worries about your luggage. There is much more to explore with few more features such as illuminated steering mounted audio controls, adjustable steering, automatic climate control system, heater, front door trim pocket etc.

There is a little twist in the story, the yet to be unveiled Dzire 2012 offer spacious cabin space than its older sibling as the rear legroom is enhanced by 20mm, pretty great enhancement for the back passengers who need to relax. But some comprises are mandatory, as boot size space is diminished and it is restricted to 316 liters, squeezing the sedan in 3,995mm length. The Dzire will be embedded with comforting features such as power steering, automatic climate control system, power windows, remote central locking, steering mounted audio controls, dash integrated music system, seat height adjustment for driver etc.

Safety:-

Safety is important and the Dzire is engrafted with valuable safety features comprising of front airbags, ABS with EBD, pre-tensioner seat belt, rear seat belt ELR adjustment, child lock, side impact protection beams, rear defogger, fog lamps, keyless entry, high mounted tail lamps, i-Cats, etc.

The new Dzire will come fully loaded with bunch of great safety features like dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), rear defogger, alloy wheels, fog lights, rear window wiper and de-mister, keyless entry, seatbelt pre-tensioners etc.

Mileage:-

The petrol variant of Dzire offers a fuel efficiency of 13.2 kmpl in city and 17.1 kmpl on the highways whereas the diesel variant renders an impressive mileage of 15.8 kmpl in city and 23.2 kmpl on highways.

Maruti Suzuki claims that the new Dzire 2012 will provide a fine mileage of 19.1 kmpl from the petrol variant while the diesel option is pretty efficient to offer a good fuel economy of 23.4 kmpl.

Price:-

Maruti Suzuki Dzire falls in a price bracket of Rs. 4.94 lakh to Rs. 7.19 lakh, ex-showroom, New Delhi.

On the contrary, though yet to be revealed but the new 2012 Dzire model may retain the similar price tag.
