Mahindra XUV500 v/s Toyota Fortuner – Power v/s Power (Expert Review)

On the other hand, Toyota Fortuner is another alluring crossover, leading the crossover for more than 3 three years. Both the calibrate machines have outstanding off-road and on-road capabilities. Both the XUV500 and Toyota Fortuner can be the rivals with the hike in automobile Industry, therefore we have brought a comparison overview of both these cars based on the following factors:-

Exteriors:-

The exteriors of Mahindra XUV500 resembles with that of Mahindra Scorpio. The roof of the car is bit curvy from top that looks similar to the MUV, Mahindra Xylo. Engine and Specifications:-

The muscle man, XUV500 is power trained by 2179 cc mHawk140, Direct Injection diesel engine5th generation Variable Geometry Turbocharger. This powerful engine has capacity to churn maximum power of 140 bhp (103 KW) at 3750 rpm and max gross torque of 330 Nm at 1600 – 2800 rpm. The engine of the car is mated by a six speed manual transmission, however, the chassis of the car is supported by McPherson type with anti-roll bar front suspensions and Multi-link type with anti-roll bar rear suspensions.

Fortuner, the SUV gambler for Toyota Kiroloskar is powered by a 3.0 liter 16 Valve DOHC, D-4D Diesel with Intercooler Turbocharger, 4 Cylinders In-line engine which can churn maximum power of 126 kW at 3600 rpm (171 PS at 3600 rpm) and maximum torque of 343 Nm at 1400-3400 rpm (34.98 kg-m at 1400-3400 rpm). The engine of Fortuner is mated by a five speed manual transmission. Below the chassis of Fortuner, you will find Double wishbone/4 – link with lateral rod front suspensions and Ventilated disc/Leading-training drum rear suspensions.

Features:-

Toyota Fortuner has adorable set of features like Power windows, Automatic air-conditioner, Anti-lock Braking System, Multi-information display, Back Sonar, Seatbelt, SRS front airbags, Steering mounted audio and MID control switches,  etc.

The modern fascinating, Mahindra XUV500 has some exciting set of features that include its 4-wheel disc brakes, Anti-lock Braking System with EBD, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Airbags, Start/Stop Button, Hill Decent Control etc.

Mileage:-

Mahindra XUV500, the newly launched M&M is said to be more fuel efficient than Toyota Fortuner. The XUV500 have caliber to deliver mileage of 15.1 kmpl (Certified by ARAI).

Toyota Fortuner is although the power churner, but in terms of fuel efficiency it is not as efficient as Mahindra XUV500; it delivers mileage of 7 – 8 kmpl in city conditions and 10 – 11 kmpl on highways.

Price :-

Mahindra XUV500 is quite cheaper than the Toyota Fortuner. Its price starts from Rs. 10.80 lakhs (Ex-showroom Delhi) and mounts up to Rs. 12.88 lakhs (Ex-showroom Delhi).

Toyota Fortuner is available in the price bracket of Rs. 23 – 24 lakhs (Ex-showroom approximate).
