The engine of the car would be mated with a 5 speed manual transmission. Honda Brio is expected to cross the speed slot of 0 to 100 kmph in 16 seconds with the top speed of 158 kmph. The car offers decent mileage 14 kmpl in city conditions while 19 kmpl on highways.
Etios Liva is offered in the engine options, petrol and diesel. Liva is packed with powerful 1197 cc 16-valve DOHC petrol engine which is capable of delivering an exceptional power of 78.9 bhp at 5600 rpm and peak torque of 104 Nm at 3100 rpm. While the diesel one is powered with four-cylinder, 1.4-litre D4D engine offering 67 bhp of maximum power and 17.34 kgm of peak torque. The car is mated with 5-speed manual gearbox. Liva sprints from 0 to 100 kmph in just 14.94 seconds and has a top speed of 178 kmph. Toyota Etios Liva gives an impressive mileage of 18.31 kmpl as claimed by the company.
Honda Brio is expected to be unveiled within a price range of Rs 5 lakhs to Rs 6 lakhs whereas the Toyota counterpart is priced in the range of Rs 3.99 lakh to Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).
After having a close eye on the looks, interiors, engine and price, we reach to a conclusion that Toyota Etios Liva is a better car but the recent complaints of low quality plastic employed inside has raised the eyebrows of many car enthusiasts. Honda Brio on the other hand has not been unleashed till date and has many things to be looked at. We look forward to the grand launching of Brio later this month.
