Volvo Showcased Hybrid Concept XC60 Plug-In At the 2012 Detroit Auto Show

With an objective to draw some interest from Americans towards the plug-in CUV, the Swedish automaker Volvo has showcased its Hybrid Concept XC60 Plug-In At the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.

Volvo has brought in the Hybrid Concept XC60 Plug-In with new upgraded techniques keeping the artistic side of the vehicle almost same by not affecting the mainstream designing. But the new XC60 Plug-in Hybrid Concept is blessed with an all-new green engine, which is crafted to offer amazingly powerful-performance with high economy.

The hybrid XC60 is powered by a four-cylinder 284 PS turbocharged petrol engine, which is capable enough to toss out a massive power of 71 PS and peak torque of 380 Nm with an electric engine combined to offer the XC60 a total of 354 PS.

The CUV cruises at the touch of a button with some terrific twinned power that can be utilized from the high-performance petrol engine and the electric motor. Basically in pure mode the vehicle is exclusively powered by an electric motor and the energy generated to the wheels is attracted through a newly developed eight-speed automatic transmission.

The XC60 can be easily charged through a regular power outlet or at a parking place. Recharging time varies according to the current flow, for example with 220V of availability, a full charge with 12A takes just 3.5 hours while with 110V/12A a full charge takes 7.5 hours.
