Hat’s off, is what we all can say as the 11th Delhi Auto Expo tickets were sold in black just a day before the commencement of the show. Two persons who were selling the tickets in black outside Pragati Maidan were arrested on Tuesday.

This 11th edition of Auto Expo, which was held in Delhi’s Pragati Maidan confronted huge rush, more than what was expected and that led the authorities shut the ticket sales counter early, this resulted in selling of tickets in black.

Auto Expo 2012 Sunday Crowd Went Bigger, Unrulier, Rowdier

The news had it that the Auto Expo 2012 was ruled by unruly crowd on Friday and Saturday, but Sunday was the most chaotic one of all. The venue was jam-packed with about 80,000 visitors. With the deluge of thousands of visitors streaming in and more than 35,000 people comprising of officials at the various stall, the total number of people went well nigh above the one lakh capacity, informed a senior police officer.

According to Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), the main organizer of the show, about 60,000 tickets of the exhibitions were sold on Sunday keeping the total number of visitors in between one lakh.

The company could set such a sales target only because of the government’s support policy for the industry, Chetan Maini, the Chief Technology Officer of the company informed the media at the Auto Expo going on in New Delhi.

 

Toyota Launched New Hybrid Prius at the 11th Auto Expo 2012

Toyota, the Japanese auto major rolled out the latest version of their hybrid sedan Prius at the 11th Auto Expo 2012, today on the third day of the sizzling auto exhibition. Prius will be available in India with ex-showroom (New Delhi) pricing of Rs 27.39 lakh and Rs 29.41 lakh.

The sedan which is known to be the best selling hybrid car globally was introduced in India in 2010 through a joint venture of Toyota and Kirloskar Group.
