11th Delhi Auto Expo Ends, Dwarka as Expected Future Venue

The most anticipated auto show, the 11th Delhi Auto Expo has come to an end and expressing the verdict about the show in Delhi at Pragati Maidan, Mr. Kamal Nath, the Minister of Urban Development, congratulated the organizers CII, SIAM and ACMA on successfully holding the exhibition. Also he was very much pleased to confront the enhanced energy at the expo with increased number of visitors from 2006, with age bar falling every year. Mr. Nath also mentioned that in last few years, the country is rapidly progressing and it is adopting and adapting various global challenges. Also growing interest of young generation plus increased disposable income are the reasons behind the growth of the automobile sector. Speedily growing urbanization is a big challenge for the government and therefore it’s quite essential to develop a strong plan for the same. And for the same process, the ministry has asked all the cities with a population greater than 2 million to prepare DPRs for Metro rail.

 

An Insight on 11th Delhi Auto Expo

The 2012 Auto Expo in Delhi was a sure shot hit in terms of attracting crowd and confronting huge charms than the previous edition with more than expected visitors but when it comes to newer ideas or some very exclusive concept, it lacked a big deal.

Specifically for the Indian roads, the most anticipated four-wheeled small car RE60 from Bajaj was unveiled at the Expo 2012 but apart from that not many cars emerged out as attractive must see models as compared to last year’s auto show when the participants brought in many small vehicles with hybrid or electric engines and became the major part of every conversation. Today’s youth is quite smart and it deeply believes in networking features along with use of some smart features that can be directly browsed from the internet. Looking to target the youth, Mercedes launched its new initiative at the auto show called ‘mb inspired’. Also this time Mercedes’ theme was ‘mb feel it’ that basically attracted the young generation to come and experience the new launches from the largest luxury car manufacturer. For the same purpose, Mercedes also invited young inspirational people like Farhan Akhtar, Chetan Bhagat, Irfan Pathan and Masaba Gupta from different industries as ‘reflections of the brand’.

 

Delhi Auto Expo 2012 Tickets Sold In Black

Hat’s off, is what we all can say as the 11th Delhi Auto Expo tickets were sold in black just a day before the commencement of the show. Two persons who were selling the tickets in black outside Pragati Maidan were arrested on Tuesday.

This 11th edition of Auto Expo, which was held in Delhi’s Pragati Maidan confronted huge rush, more than what was expected and that led the authorities shut the ticket sales counter early, this resulted in selling of tickets in black.

 

Hybrid & Electric Cars are to Set New Trends in Auto Sector

Green is the latest In Thing, and even at the Auto Expo 2012 going on in New Delhi, it has become the In Thing in the real sense with the major automakers like Maruti Suzuki, Nissan, Hyundai Motor and Mahindra & Mahindra exhibiting electric and hybrid vehicles at the show which are going to be launched in the near future.

Hungama’s Augmented Reality Effort in Form of Virtual Cheetah for Mahindra at Delhi Auto Expo

The complete campaign wooed the visitors at the auto expo 2012 and people attending the show were actually able to interact with the Cheetah. This terrifically augmented reality campaign for homegrown auto giant Mahindra was a hit at the show and visitors at the show were required to stand at a marked area so that a big screen over the XUV500 showcases a virtual cheetah walking in and standing next to the visitor.

 

After 2012 Auto Expo Mess, the 2014 Venue Expected To Shift From the City

After so much mess and chaos at the ongoing 11th Delhi Auto Expo 2012, the next auto expo which is expected to be held in 2014 will confront a shift of venue in order to offer the exhibitors and visitors a better managed event with promising experience.

The 2012 Auto Show was basically mismanaged with poor infrastructure and this is the reason why organizers have decided to shift the venue of 2014 Auto Expo. Also the automotive show will be shifted to February and the first day will be strictly reserved only for the media while the special guests and VIPs will be entertained only on the second day of the expo.
